The vineyards of the Sankt Jodern cooperative winery in Visperteminen are one of the highest in Europe. Perched between 650 and 1,150 meters altitude, the steep terraces of this hot dry valley cater mainly white Savagnin grape. The wine-growing tradition in Visperterminen go back as far the Celts which would explain the presence of the white Savagnin, a grape native of France.
