Tenuta Castello di Morcote extends over a vast promontory surrounded by Lake Ceresio: 172 hectares of uncontaminated nature with a unique soil in Ticino consisting of red porphyry, a volcanic rock. At the heart of the estate - in a panoramic position overlooking the lake - lies the castle dating from the 15th century. The family-run estate, since 1930, manages 7 hectares of vineyards with slopes up to 30% in Morcote and other selected surfaces in the Mendrisio area. Viticulture is mainly manual. The vineyards are maintained according to organic principles, they have been certified since 2017. The goal of the winery is to obtain quality grapes to create authentic wines, which are the expression of the land from which they come.
