Due to the COVID-19 pandemic hitting Switzerland, the 2020 Open Wineries days are postponed in order to meet the recommendations of the Federal Council and the health and safety requirements of the Federal Office of Public Health (OFSP). Meanwhile, in this period of confinement, Swiss wines stand by your side and are available through home delivery arranged by most wineries.
For several weeks, Switzerland has been subject to a ban on private and public events. The request for confinement and the limitation of movement means that events such as the Open Wineries can't take place in good conditions. After discussion between the six wine regions and Swiss Wine Promotion (SWP), it was jointly decided to postpone the open wineries days to a period better suited for a warm welcome in the vineyard. Various scenarios are currently being considered, but no dates have been set yet.
The Open Wineries days are the largest wine tourism event in Switzerland
In addition to pleasing visitors taste, the open wineries days offer good visibility to all winegrowers and allow the public to discover their regional and national terroir. The organizers hope that this event will be a breath of fresh air and a moment of reunion with family and friends after these difficult times. Stay at home, Swiss winegrowers will deliver to your home
This period of confinement should not be a reason to deprive yourself of the oenological pleasures of Swiss wines. More than 500 wine estates are at your disposal for your orders and home delivery. A special platform has been put online by Swiss Wine Promotion in conjunction with regional promotion organizations in order to identify all the areas, region by region, which engage in this approach.
