The zum Sternen estate does not just produce wine. It is also an important vine nursery, where hundreds of thousands of new varieties are grafted each year. Needles to say, many Swiss wine-growers prefer to purchase their plants in the estate where the Pinot Noir is king. Most of the production is based on this variety and is made in many different ways, from full-bodied grands crus to light and fruity wines. The most prestigious wine from the estate is the Kloster Sion grand cru in Klingnau.
